Know your skin, keep it healthy
You should understand your skin type before opting for your daily skincare regime. There are a lot of skincare products out there in the market that caters for different types of skin. By knowing which skin type you belong to will help you in choosing the perfect set of skincare for your daily routine.
The most common skin types include combination, oily and dehydrated. It is easy to determine what type of skin you have. Take dehydrated skin for example, cleanse your face, pat dry and wait for a while, without your toner on, to check if you will feel a pulling sensation on your face. It might just suggest that your skin is lacking in hydration.
Dehydrated skin – Moisturize! What is more important than giving your skin the adequate amount of moisture? Use a moisturizer religiously to prevent dry and flaky skin that might trigger the sensitivity of your skin. It can also cause premature aging as well as wrinkles to appear. Do not use an alcohol based toner as it will strip off the natural oil in your skin. If you are free, use a hydrating mask at least twice a week to replenish all the nutrients and hydration your skin is lacking off.
Combination skin – Balance is the key! Moisturize only the necessary part as combination skin tends to be oily on the T-zone and slightly dry on the cheeks area. It is better to invest in two types of moisturizers; an oil-free one for the T-Zone and a moisture rich one for the cheeks.
Oily skin – Combat it! As much as you wish to get rid of the oiliness on your face, please do not neglect the importance of a moisturizer. Without it, your skin will tend to produce more oil to compensate the loss of moisture. Go for an oil-free hydrator and use a deep cleansing mask once a week to thoroughly cleanse your pores.

Beauty Brows
A sequel to last week's beauty care tips on busting pimples, this week I'll share with you some basics of maintaining your eyebrows.
Believe it or not, first thing that has higher possibility of capturing people's attention will definitely be your eyes. Eyes are the windows to the soul, like how most people would probably describe it. Nature best given thing to complement it is non other than eyebrows. A perfectly shaped eyebrows is important and you should not underestimate its ability to transform the way how you look.
SHAPE NOT SHED - Everyone has different types of eyebrows. Regardless of it being thicker, bushier or thinner eyebrows, most of them require some grooming. When shaping your eyebrows, you might have the tendency to over pluck the hair. This will result in horrifying large gaps between them which you will then fill them up with an eyebrow pencil. If you are not sure which shape or how to shape your eyebrows, do pay a visit to the experts and have them shape it for you. It's a lot easier to maintain your perfectly shaped brows once you have got the shape right from the beginning. However if you naturally have thick eyebrows and you doubt if thinner ones will not suit to your likings, tell the experts before they start to groom them. Remember, you cannot undo the whole process after shaping. Eyebrows will take quite long to grow back and you need to stick to that look whether you like it or not.
TRIM AND MAINTAIN - After you have your eyebrows nicely shaped, there are some maintenance to do. You need to trim the hair if they grow longer and stick out as well as removing the new grown hairs around your eyebrows area. There are many ways to remove the unwanted hairs such as plucking or shaving them off. It plucking the hair hurts you, opt to do this after your shower when the pores are still open, it's less painful this way. Plucking promises hair free days longer compared to shaving, which normally lasts for a few days before the hair starts to show.
STIMULATE - Nourish your eyebrows to keep them healthy by applying some olive oil in them. Some celebrities apply their face cream on their eyebrows as well as dabbing some on the lashes to promote growth, helps thickening and lengthening them at the same time.

Pimple Buster
You have done a lot to prevent the overgrowing pimples on your face. What are they actually? Pimples are oil glands that are infected with bacteria, got inflamed and has pus. The oil glands produce sebum and each day, your skin sheds its outer layers and if they are left in the pores together with the sebum, it causes clog pores. This phenomenon is most likely to happen when you reach puberty when the oil glands are most active. Pimples are not contagious but it could be hereditary.
SLOUGH OFF – Though it is good to help skin to dissolve the dead skin cells in order to aid the skin renewal cycle which normally take about 20 to 28 days, depending on your age because as you aged, the process will be slower. Excessive exfoliating will only do more bad than good despite being told that scrubbing your face daily will keep your pores clean and clear. The truth is, scrubbing too often makes your skin more prone to sensitivity and dehydration as it gets thinner each time you discard the outer layer of your skin! If you ever notice, besides dry and sensitive issue, your skin tends to be lacking of radiance, giving you a dull complexion. If you must scrub, choose a fine one and do it gently once or twice a week or use an exfoliating mask that contains enzymes.
24/7 HYDRATION – You should not neglect this vital step in your daily skincare regime. A lot of you may think that since you already have pimply skin which naturally leads to oiliness, you do not need to moisturize it. Now, the thing is, oil and hydration are not the same. Your skin tends to produce more oils to compensate the lack of moisture in your skin. Thus, hydrating your skin is essential. Use lightweight moisturizers or oil-free ones.
WATCH YOUR DIET – Although there is no significant evidence to prove that food and acne are related but from research, the worst pimple causing food around is the vegetable oil. This normally applies for those who are having pimples or genetically prone to pimples. Contradicting with people’s belief, vegetables are good source of fibers and vitamins but the oil derived from them is bad. Avoid cooking using vegetable oils and you should look out for which other food that you usually consume and contains vegetable oils if you want to get rid of pimples!
