Are you now reading this with an open mind? Well I hope you are because as I have mentioned in the first piece on MEMS, this article works better with it. I must somehow believe or hope that you are so 'tasting' may begin. Here we go folks who looks down on Malaysian english music or never knew the existence of it, this shall be your eye opener!
MEMS: Tasting Begins!
I will try to keep this light and fun! I'll be doing a lot of matching ups in this article. For example if you like a certain international act, I will match it up with a local musician whose music is of the same genre and which is just as good!
Starters:
People who likes international acoustic acts such as John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Howie Day, etc.
You will most probably love local acts such as Diandra Arjunaidi, Ariff AB, Liyana Fizi, Eve and George Wong.
Main Course:
You like rock music? Yes? We'll have a simple "battle of the bands" or rather just a match up.

As you can see or rather hear, we've got our own talents in our country, and they need YOUR support because without it they can only grow so much and because they will can never get enough from making music alone, they will eventually stop one day.
I hope this article has been an insight for most of you and for the rest of you who are already supporting our local music scene or you're just beginning to change your perception on local music and start supporting, HIGH 5!
No this is not the end, you can't just leave after tasting, there's just one more piece to go, just a last one to sum everything up.
I'll tell you why you have not heard of these awesome talented local musicians. Whether you think it's true or I'm just making an assumption, stay tuned.
