The Zoo Negara ( Min Kim-DMC08)

Hello children! Do you have plans for the coming weekend? Not to worry because Zoo Negara is waiting for you. Come to Hulu Kelang, Ampang to see different types of animal yourself. There are total of over 5137 animals from 459 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish.

You will be experiencing jungle life in the zoo. It is best to wear a cap or bring an umbrella for this trip. Oh! Do not forget to bring a camera to capture your favourite animal!

The pictures below are taken from the zoo. Which will be your favourite animal?

Sun Bear

This is Sun Bear. Sun Bear is the smallest of the world’s eight bear species. As you can see in the picture, the bear is looking high up to the sky. Do you know sun bear is called basindo nan tenggil in Malay language, which means “he who likes to sit high?” That is cute.

Tapir

Spot the animal with black and white on its body? Tapir can be found in the zoo as you pass by Giraffe section. Tapir eats insects, fruit, berries and leaves.

It was a hot day, but we were lucky to spot Rhinoceros. There were more than five rhinos in there. You should see how Rhino eats grass. Their way of eating is slow and polite. That is good for digestion. Children, are you doing the same as them?

Zoo Negara covers not only Rhinos, Tapirs, Sun Bears. You can see giraffe, snakes, bees, penguins and many more. If you are afraid of certain animal like snakes, there is another place inside for you. In the Children’s world, you can spot rabbits and ponies!

You will definitely enjoy this place. There are ice creams and soft drinks in case you need refreshment.
