Zoo Negara Review (Kids Version)

The National Zoo, there is no better place than this to see wildlife animals and getting really close to it! Why see the animals from your television when you can see it right in front of you, yes the animals are really big in real life! The zoo is home to 5137 animals out of the 459 species here.

See the picture above? This is how close you can get to the Milky Stork! There are many of these at the zoo which you can find at the lake. Milky Storks are rare as there are only about 100 of them here in Malaysia. We are the only zoo that have this many Milky Stork!

Did you know that the Giraffe is the tallest animal in the world? It also has a long neck which other animals will not have! A lion may be the king of animals but if kicked by a giraffe, the lion can die. They are one of the largest and strongest animals on Earth but at the same time, they are also peaceful animals.

ROAR! Can you tell what animal this is? I’m sure you could as you would have seen this in cartoons but in real life, the tiger looks tougher and fiercer. As Malaysians, you definitely have to see our very own Malayan Tiger at the zoo. The tiger is the symbol of bravery and strength to Malaysians.

There are a total of 4 species in the Tapir family but the Malayan Tapir is the largest of them all and it can also be seen in our zoo! Interestingly, when it is sleeping, other animals might mistake it as a rock. Although Tapirs can weigh up to 500kg, they can run fast when they are scared or in danger. They are also able to protect themselves with sharp teeth.

Orang Utans as the name says, they are among the smartest living animal in the world. For example, they are able to use leaves that will be able to make their squeak sounds louder to allow them to communicate with others of their kind. They behave quite similar to us humans, just in a more funny way! An Orang Utan is one that you should not miss seeing!

Of course there are many more exciting and interesting animals in the zoo but there are just too many to talk about. So what are you waiting for? Bring your parents along and have fun at the National Zoo! Excitement awaits you!
